I have done Robert Greenberg's course: "Music of Richard Wagner", but it doesn't talk so much about the actual music as I would like. The list of Wagner biographies available to read is somewhat overwhelming. He must be the most discussed composer ever. E' una danza di corteggiamento, i cui movimenti alludono a un rituale che prevede l'incontro, l'inseguimento e...l'abbraccio finale. Il ballo avviene in coppia però la coreografia si svolge all'interno di un gruppo di altri ballerini. Originariamente si ballava nel campo, da qui si spiega anche l'origine del suo nome. Deriverebbe infatti da "chacarero" , vale a dire contadino, lavoratore dei campi. Dalle zone rurali poi, il ballo si diffuse lentamente anche nelle città. E' allegra e giocosa!
