viernes, 30 de noviembre de 2012 21:00 Remanso de Neptunia, Canelones, Uruguay Quartier Latino, presenta su show Al Borde del Mundo para el Día del Futuro. Quartier LatinO es un dúo musical nacido en Francia, de la mano de Carlos Arteaga y Anne Vieu, vecinos del Remanso de Neptunia desde 2008. Crearon un género, la música migratoria. Una mezcla de culturas, de idiomas francés y español. Sus últimas composiciones hablan de la realidad uruguaya: Remanso Canario, El Rancho, etc. También interpretan el repertorio francés a la manera rioplatense y caribeña. Este año, se sumó al grupo otro habitante del Remanso, Sebastián Buere y una percusionista de Atlántida, casi una vecina más. El viernes 30 de noviembre a las 21:30, desde su querido Remanso Canario los cuatro se suman al Día del Futuro, organizado por la diaria. Quartier LatinO los invita primero a un show, con cierre de la comparsa del barrio, La Lunática. Luego, se realizará una charla animada por una periodista de la diaria. Además de intercambiar con los artistas, la idea es reflexionar sobre el futuro del barrio y de la costa. Cantina a beneficio de la comisión Pro fomento del Remanso de Neptunia. Our biggest and most exciting festival to date. How do you share the theatrical riches of a continent? With five visiting companies programmed this year from Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Argentina, we hope to offer the beginnings of an answer. From clown to musical comedy, from historical drama to political theatre, from dance to epic storytelling, we've never had such a range of theatrical genres at CASA before. The same is true of the stories being told. Imaginary cities collide with historical voyages, the conquest of the Americas with the violence of the Holocaust, the plight of journalists in Mexico with a Buenos Aires love story. It's very exciting to be sharing such diversity but, truth be told, not particularly surprising. Latin American theatre is as diverse as the continent and cultures from which it springs. You'd expect each show to be different and they are, beautifully so, each one so particular to their time and location and context. And yet, theatre is an art that rejoices in exploring the things we share as human beings, fundamentally. In doing so, borders dissolve, stories are shared and new histories written. And that's what this year's festival is about.
