MARCH 2014 ,NYC,NEW YORK,EU

NY NUEVA YORK EU 14 de marzo a la(s) 17:30 - 17 de marzo a la(s) 22:00 en EDT Descripción This will be a 4-day seminar, in the same format as the seminars of Chicho & Juana that we have previously organized, the days of the seminar will be March 14, 15, 16, 1nd 17. The seminar will be entitled "INCLUSIVE TANGO" and will focus on Social Tango dancing for all styles. Roberto & Laura will perform Argentine Folklore at a special milonga at the Dance Manhattan studio on Friday, March 14th, DJed by Avik Basu from Ann Arbor, and Tango at Robin Thomas's Nocturne on Saturday, March 15th. Both will be exclusive performances and the couple won't perform anywhere else in NYC on this visit. The seminar will consist of two tracks. You are welcome to take either one of the 2 tracks, but you have to stay within the track you chose and cannot mix and match classes switching from one track to the other. INCLUSIVE TANGO The objective of this seminar is to understand that the Tango is one and only and that different “styles” are only a matter of fashion. TRACK 1 (earlier in the day on each day): Anatomic positions, dancing Tango with your entire body. Explaining the milonguero structure of movement for social dancing. The matrix of today’s Tango, the inclusive tango, has been first developed in the socio-cultural fantasy in the 1940s. Those who truly managed to grasp and maintain alive the call of Tango were so-called “Tango Resistance”, about 12 couples that were getting together in the 60s and 70s, during the dictatorship era, despite the fact that any gatherings of over 4 people were strictly prohibited. They were the ones who have practiced relentlessly and infused creativity into many combinations and cadences that we use dancing tango and that will be reviewed during the seminar. TRACK 2 (later in the day on each day): The confusions and uncertainty in today’s Tango. Tango structure and transformation, mastering your social dancing. The social part of Tango makes us think of where we are now, it makes us take time to respect that, who is dancing in front, on the side, or behind us, all of that without disrupting the musical interpretation, the dialog with the partner, and the respect for the others. How do we manage all that and make it pleasurable at the same time? SCHEDULE: Fri March 14: 5pm-7:15pm and 7:45-10pm Sat March 15: 2pm-4:15 and 4:45-7pm Sun March 16: 12pm-2:15pm and 2:45-5pm Mon March 17: 5:30pm-7:45pm and 8:15-10:30pm Pricing: $265 per person for either track (2.25 hours per day x 4 days) $485 per person for both tracks (4.5 hours per day x 4 days) This seminar is intended for couples as the results are more consistent when we work with a predictable partner, please feel free to post a note re: partner search in TE group or on this event's wall. Pre-registration required. Registration is limited to 25 couples per track New York - it will be a fabulous weekend - don't miss it!! His teaching is recognized world-wide for its tradition, innovation and experimentation. During his prolific career as a teacher, choreographer, and dancer, he has taught and danced on stages around the world: Italy, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Spain, Finland, Spain, Portugal, France, Greece, Germany, Poland, the USA, Brazil, Japan, Korea, Bali, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia. A remarkable achievement worth mentioning is Roberto Herrera’s work as the principal male dancer of the Gran Orquesta of Maestro Osvaldo Pugliese. Herrera carries that kind of tango tradition you won’t be able to find elsewhere. In his teaching he offers his students unique information on history and evolution of tango, which helps to understand the tango we dance today. Career highlights also include founding one of the most recognized academies of Tango in Buenos Aires. Roberto was once principal dancer of the Argentinian National Ballet directed by Santiago Ayala «El Chucaro» and Norma Viola. In 1986 he was the principal male dancer in the film «Tango Bar». He was part of the cast of «Tango Argentino» in 1992 and 2006 in Buenos Aires, and on Broadway in 2000. From 1993 to 1995 he was principal male dancer of «Tango Pasion» with the Orchestra Sexteto Mayor. In 1995 he created, directed and interpreted «Tango, Una Historia,» which he performed until 2001 in the historic tango bar «El Querandi» in Buenos Aires. During 2006 — 2007 he took part in the widely-acclaimed show «Buenos Aires Tango 3» in Paris and Brussels with the orchestras El Arranque, Vale Tango and Decarisimo. The same show was then successfully performed at the Auditorium in Rome, and then, together with Orquesta El Arranque, in Brescia and Hong Kong, where it sold out at the prestigious Hong Kong Arts Festival. Besides being famous as a tango dancer, Roberto is widely known as an exceptional Argentine folklore dancer. Argentine folklore, in fact, was something he had discovered before he started to dance tango. His performances always include folklore shows that are just as skillful and breathtaking as his tango performances. I think they might be able to squeeze in a private, although their schedule is tight, I'll check with him. We would also need to check with DM about the space, but usually they do have the smaller rooms available, I just don't know the schedule nor pricing. I'll check with Roberto if he'd like to do a private maybe on Sunday after the seminar. 6 de febrero a la(s) 1:55 · Me gusta Mona Moussa Hi Julia, i plan to sig up for the workshop.
